Whatever time is left in her busy schedule is used for reading, gardening, and church activities, which include playing clarinet in the church orchestra.

Dr. Melanie Summers, DVM

After starting her career in a mixed animal practice, she owned and operated a successful veterinary hospital for 8 years. Her professional interests include surgery and internal medicine. She also dedicates her time to volunteering on trips abroad, using her skills to help animals and communities in need. When not working, Dr. Summers enjoys an active lifestyle filled with camping, hiking, fishing, and running. At home, she is surrounded by a lively household, including her supportive husband, four children, three dogs, and four cats. Her dedication to veterinary medicine, leadership, and service reflects a lifelong passion for animals and making a difference.
Dr. Taylor Vap
Dr. Taylor Vap, DVM
Dr. Taylor Vap earned her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from Oklahoma State University. She has experience as a veterinary assistant and volunteered at a high-volume spay and neuter clinic. She is a Certified Peaceful Euthanasia Professional through CAETA and a Cat Friendly Veterinary Professional through AAFP.

Dr. Vap’s passion for veterinary medicine began with a lifelong love of animals and grew through her commitment to supporting the human-animal bond. She hopes clients understand that preventive care, including vaccines, parasite prevention, and dental care, is one of the most important investments they can make in their pets’ long-term health.

Originally from Louisiana, she enjoys reading fantasy and science fiction and training and competing in jiu-jitsu tournaments. She shares her home with her husband, two dachshunds, a chihuahua, and an orange cat.
